£1,000 Raised for Military Charities

Our first event of the day was at ASDA in Crewe to support Glenn Lowe and his Walk of Rememberance team with some charity bag-packing.

We blasted some tunes out to keep the Saturday morning shoppers entertained and the Crewe Fire Cadets happy whilst busily packing bags.

Unfortunately we could only stay until midday but we were thrilled to find out that the team raised over £1,000 for three military charities:

Combat Stress - Help for Heroes - Hounds for Heroes.

Glenn Lowe and his wife Sarah will be leading over 100 walkers along the Pennine Way to raise money for the three charities. If a circa 280 mile walk wasn't hard enough, Glenn an ex-marine suffers from Asbestosis, a lung damaging disease that can make breathing a painful challenge.

Glenn has a fund raising page so if you would like to donate please click here.

Please also follow Glenn on the Walk of Remembrance Facebook page and www.twitter.com/PennineWalk2011 for regular updates before and during his mammoth walk.
